Address:
8 Lifford Way Bilton Industrial Estate CV3 2RN Telephone: 01926 855538 Fax: Website Tools with a Mission is a Christian charity which collects old and unwanted tools which can be refurbished and sent to the developing world. We willingly collect sewing machines which are also refurbished and send with a work kit so that the lady receiving the machine can start to make a living and support her family. In fact we collect any tools, knitting machines, typewriters, etc. If in any doubt give us a call. We have a collectino point at the Coventry Waste site which is a shed labelled Tools With A Mission and where such tools can be placed. One of our operatives collects them and they are taken to 8 Lifford Way for sorting and refurbishment. Alternatively they can be taken to 8 Lifford Way. The tools are sorted to go into Carpenters & Tradesmen Tool Kits. Refurbishment means chisels are reground and lapped on an oil stone, planes are done in the same way and screw drivers are reground. There is a variety of work to be done. Our main problem is a shortage of helpers. If people could only spare an hour or two at a time it would make a difference and if they have no expereience we are able to train people up. Obviously in a city like Coventry there must be many trained toolmakers and skilled craftsmen. We operate from 8 Lifford Way, Binley on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30 until 3:30 and also once a fortnight from the Arthur Rank Centre in Kenilworth from 7pm until 9pm. All work is undertaken on a voluntary basis
