This solution is delivered as part of a £10m+ project in partnership with Coventry City Council. Coventry City Council is putting in a fibre network provided by Optilan that is the backbone of the service delivery. At one end of this fibre backbone is a wireless solution being delivered by Optilan the preferred supplier of Coventry City Council. At the other end is the broadband link provided by BT and the central CCTV Control Room set up and actively working to reduce crime by co-ordinating all of the crime reduction services provided by BID.

 Quite clearly, with projects of this size and complexity, much of the work is not seen by the end users of the service. To date the current status of the project is as follows:

• Central Control Room has been built, fully equipped and is operational
• The BT central infrastructure is fully installed, tested and operational
• BID site installations have commenced on the city wide rollout with a number of sites 100% complete and operational
• The rollout plan for the remaining sites is being agreed as the Council’s fibre project advances
