Ramesh Farmah, managing partner of Eden Street Industrial Estate, has grown increasingly frustrated with people fly-tipping and throwing away waste, ranging from sofas to garden trimmings. Coventry B4B - the team which carries out the Business Improvement District (BID) scheme - helped arrange discounted skip hire and has planned to install an actively monitored CCTV camera on the site, to catch anyone who dumps rubbish. Mr Farmah says bringing an end to the problem will have benefits for all his clients. "It is not nice to approach the estate and to be surrounded by waste. It does not give the image anyone would like and so it's very important that we address that," he said. "Hopefully the CCTV will deter people from using the site's entrance as a dump and will also add security for the units." David Hoare, a business area champion for Coventry B4B and the area, said: "Mr. Farmah's is eager to improve his estate and help the businesses by giving them a better working environment. "We will be aiming to help him in every way we can and improve the site's security will hopefully start to end the problems."
