Business Area Champions are able to draw on extensive business experience to understand operational and other business issues. Working with groups of businesses within the BID project, they will consolidate these and ensure that they are fed into the appropriate bodies for awareness and action. Developing and maintaining knowlege of support programmes in the area, they will also provide a referral service helping businesses to engage where applicable, optimising access to specialists and other resources with a view to helping them move forwards successfully.

The primary objective is to develop a position of trust with the businesses, and one where they can be seen to add value through both their personal skills and competences aswell as their knowledge and relationships within the support environment more generally.

  The role of the Business Area Champion is to:

• Understand what assistance (if any) your business needs
• To assist you in facilitating that assistance
• To be the interface between your business and the BID company
